Roberto gave us some nice history on the car, so here is what he wrote us:
My car "Strictly 4 Pleasure,"
is a 1964 Chevy Impala. I got it as a present
for my birthday when I was 14 I am now 17 and over the years, hard work
has paid off. I got involved in the lowrider movement when I moved to
the west side of San Antonio, Texas "S.A. Town" were this is an everday
thang, but enough about me lets get to the point. When I got it, it was
a stock impala with hubcaps and a crappy paint job, but being that the
chicks love the "lowlows" me and family members quickly worked on it in
our spare time. I had it painted a Midnight Black, then awhile after I
had all the chrome parts on the exterior rechromed. Since Black and Red
are my favorite colors and a neighborhood favorite also, I had the
interiot done up in red and black crushed velvet. Soon after, I had to
get the hydro's. My setup consists of two Red's Pro Series pumps, four
Delta dumps, 8-inch (front and 10-inch(rear) cylinders, 2-ton springs
four Trojan batteries, and six solenoids for a combined total of 10
switches. The engine is a 1982 350-c.i.d v8 "got to have power with a
car like this" and I roll on 14x7 Daytons with P175/75-R14 Cooper which
I forgot to say was the first thing I got for this car, because it will
at least look good with a tight pair of rims. Future modifications will
be to flake the paint add a couple of murals upgrade my setup to at
least 18 swithces so it can become a pro hopper, and totally chroming the
undercarriage, and add some gold platting along with some tripple gold
rims. Maybe i'll suicide the doors too, if I get enough money too, or if
God permits me. Looks like Roberto and his family did a awesome job! Keep it clean! Questions or comments, e-mail Roberto's '64.
